JOB PROFILE/ Training Profile

This should not be interpreted as an offer of employment of any kind, as it is a training program. Please be aware that applicants hired as apprentices will not be considered “employees” of Union Bank of India and will not be eligible for any benefits meant for Bank employees.

DURATION OF TRAINING:

The training lasts for a year. The apprentice will receive on-the-job training covering various facets of banking procedures, goods, and practices.

STIPEND/ BENEFIT

For a year of employment, the apprentices are entitled to a stipend of Rs. 15,000/-per month. The apprentices are not entitled to any additional benefits or allowances.

SELECTION PROCESS

Candidates who apply to work as apprentices at the Bank and pay the required online exam fee must go through the selection process, which consists of the following steps:

Online Test (objective type)

Total duration of examination would be 60 minutes

Knowledge and Test of Local Language

Candidates for trainee positions in a given state must be fluent in at least one of the state’s native languages, including reading, writing, speaking, and understanding. Those who are chosen must present their 10th and 12th grade transcripts or certificates attesting to their proficiency in the designated local tongue. If they are unable to provide a certificate attesting to their language proficiency, they will be asked to take a local language test as part of their Personal Interaction & Document Verification. The candidate will not be permitted to work as an apprentice if it is determined that they are not proficient in the state’s local language in terms of reading, writing, speaking, and understanding.

Wait List

The Bank may, at its sole discretion, declare a wait list of successful applicants in order to satisfy its requirements regarding the non-acceptance or non-reporting of the chosen candidates from the First Merit List.

Medical Examination

Candidates must present a medically fit certificate from a practicing registered general practitioner, who must have at least an MBBS, in order to be hired as chosen apprentices.

Final Selection will be subject to

a) Reaching the cutoff scores in the online test, which the Bank will determine at its own discretion.
b) A satisfactory confirmation that the DoB, Category, and Educational Qualification documents meet the requirements for apprentice eligibility when compared to the data provided in the application.
c) Presenting a certificate or passing an exam demonstrating proficiency in the local tongue.
d) Providing a certificate of medical fitness from a licensed general practitioner in active practice.

Contract of Apprenticeship

a) Through the relevant apprenticeship portal, the Bank will digitally offer engagement to candidates who are determined eligible for it based on the merit list.
b) Applicants must accept the apprenticeship offer on the Bank’s online portal within a certain window of time.
c) The apprenticeship training will be considered to have begun on the date specified in the apprenticeship contract.

Assessment and Certification

Apprentices will have to take an assessment test after completing their training. Apprentices who successfully complete the evaluation in accordance with current regulations will receive the certificate.
